Gun Activist Adam Kokesh Refuses to Cooperate in Court

Kokesh was arrested Wednesday and faced arraignment on drug charges.

Gun rights activist Adam Kokesh refused to cooperate with police during a bond hearing Thursday morning on drug charges. Officers had to put him in a wheelchair to get him in front of the detention center cameras for his arraignment, according to a WTOP report.

Kokesh was arrested Wednesday after a search of his home. U.S. Park Police were reportedly responding to a YouTube video posted of Kokesh appearing to load a shotgun in Freedom Plaza.

WJLA reports that the drug charges are due to hallucinogenic mushrooms allegedly found during the search of the home.

Town of Herndon Police Lt. Jim Moore told Patch that officers found stashes of both drugs and weapons in the home.

The court denied bond on the drug charges, according to WTOP. Kokesh reportedly refused to speak to the judge and a public defender was appointed for him.
