The Herndon Historical Society

Come hear relic hunter, Paul Hammond, who will speak to us and show us his finds from Herndon. Paul grew up in Herndon on Elden Street. He started relic hunting with his father, Dick, at the age of eight, when his father came and took him out of school in 4th grade and took him to Centreville when construction started on the Newgate Shopping Center. 
Many of his Civil War finds&nbsp;in Herndon came along Dranesville Road. He also found numerous bottles in the old town dump in Cooktown. Paul will also have copies of his book, “The Hammond Civil War Collection; Fifty Years of searching the Virginia Woods,” which he published about his father’s hobby and passed on to Paul.
