Council for the Arts of Herndon Honors Volunteers at Annual Meeting

Volunteers and contributors were recognized at the annual Council for the Arts of Herndon meeting Wednesday.

Members of the Council for the Arts of Herndon gathered at Ice House Cafe in downtown Herndon on Wednesday to for the annual meeting and to honor volunteers and contributors to the organization.  Council for the Arts Board President Grace Wolf discussed some of the programming the group does in the Town of Herndon, including many hands-on arts events for children, Herndon Festival, the annual Jimmy's Golf Tournament and providing scholarships and grants to area youth and arts organizations.  In 2012 the organization provided more than $20,000 in scholarships and $8,000 in grants to other arts organizations, Wolf said.  Wolf said there are some changes this year. Herndon Arts Week Begins Oct. 8

Events include free kids classes, a barbershop quartet and more.

Herndon Arts Week will offer many exciting art activities and entertainment for all ages beginning Oct. 8.  Arts Week will include concerts, events for local residents to meet area artists and much more. Arts Week is produced by the Council for the Arts of Herndon. "I am excited that once again, CAH is able to provide wonderful, interactive arts experiences to town residents and visitors, with most of the events absolutely free and open to the public," said CAH President Grace Wolf. "There is something for everyone — from art classes for kids to wine and art for the adults. Come out and experience the arts in Herndon!"
