Herndon Council Visits Richmond
Members of the Herndon Town Council traveled to Richmond on Thursday, Feb. 9 to visit with local representatives, Del. Tom Rust (R-86) and Sen. Mark Herring (D-33). The Council's legislative agenda included a bill to remove trailers for outstanding parking violations (HB861), a bill to establish a state income tax deduction for tolls paid on publicly owned roads in Virginia (HB862), and a bill to establish liens against a property for each civil penalty that results from zoning violations in a municipality (HB863). According to Rust's latest Rust Report HB861 passed unanimously in committee and he expects it to pass in the House and then go to the Senate. HB862 has been continued to 2013, and HB863 has not yet been acted on.
