Herndon Business Students Earn First at Statewide Business Plan Competition
A group of Herndon High School students will go on to the international competition in April 2013.
Herndon High School Business Department's Business Management Virtual Enterprise Class took first place in a statewide business plan competition in Virginia Beach earlier this month. Twenty one teams participated in the competition, which took place Dec. 12-13. This is the first time a Fairfax County school has placed first in the annual competition. The students created a virtual company in Kathy Thomas' class, wrote a buisness plan, then defended their business plan and financials before three groups of judges. The students requested a startup loan of $284,575 to finance their virtual company, Oshibori Mugs, a company that makes travel mugs that can heat or cool a liquid to the user's desire.
