Herndon Parks and Rec Spring Registration Opens Wednesday

Registration for classes and programs through the Herndon Community Center opens to Town of Herndon residents Wednesday.

Registration for the Herndon Parks and Recreation Department's winter classes and programs begins this week.  Registration is open to all Town of Herndon residents beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Registration can be done online or in person.  Registration for non-Town of Herndon residents will be open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 both online and in person.  If those signing up for programs and classes haven't signed up for one in a while, they may need to sign up through Herndon Parks and Recreation's new Webtrac system, which can be found by clicking here. Last Chance: Herndon Adult Basketball League Signup

Signup deadline is Dec. 28.

The Herndon Adult Basketball League still has room for interested teams.  Team deposit is $100 and the deadline for registration is Dec. 28. Games are played on Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings at the Herndon Community Center.  League play will start the week of Jan. 13 and the season will run through the end of March. Friends of Runnymede to Hold Educational Park Program

The next Rambles in Runnymede, "Snug as a Bug in a Rug," is Nov. 25.

The Friends of Runnymede Park's Rambles in Runnymede program will focus on hibernation and where animals go for the winter this month. This month's event, "Snug as a Bug in a Rug," looks at how animals at Runnymede Park tuck in and stay warm and safe in the winter. The event begins at 2 p.m. Nov. 25. The animals in the park have a wide variety of places they venture to in the winter, from dry leaves, to being buried in mud or encased in a weed stalk.  Rambles in Runnymede is a natural discovery series created for children age 8 and older to get a closer look at the park and all that happens in it. Ramble events are led by Peter Munroe, a trained naturalist.  Each Ramble event begins with a short presentation about the topic at hand and is …

The Herndon Ladies Golf Club is looking for new members.

1. Registration is now open for spring programs at the Herndon Community Center. The Herndon Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programming for children, teens, adults and seniors, including special interest classes, fitness, dance, swimming, tennis, gymnastics, digital photography and more. 2. The Herndon Ladies Golf Club is looking for new members. The season begins on March 28. They play every Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Herndon Centennial Golf Course from April through October. 3.
