Jimmy's Old Town Tavern celebrated its second King of the Wings win with a special chicken dance.
Jimmy's Old Town Tavern won Northern Virginia Magazine's King of the Wings contest for the second year in a row. The first year of the contest owner Jimmy Cirrito promised he would do the chicken dance in his boxers on Elden Street — a promise he made good on when he won in March 2011. This year he said he would take his chicken dance to the streets again if he continued his reign as King of the Wings. [Want to stay on top of news in Herndon? Jimmy's Old Town Tavern was voted No. 1 in WTOP's best wings contest.
Jimmy's Old Town Tavern has done it again. The Herndon hangout and community gathering place has won first place in WTOP's wings contest. Buffalo Wild Wings took second place out of 10 area restaurants that serve great wings; Ledo Pizza took third. Owner Jimmy Cirrito told WTOP that the secret is in the sauce, which he gets shipped to the restaurant all the way from Buffalo, NY. Last year Jimmy's won Northern Virginia Magazine's King of the Wings contest. Late one night in the middle of the contest, Cirrito promised the patrons at his restaurant that if Jimmy's wings won the contest he would do the chicken dance in his underwear in the middle of Elden Street.
