Town of Herndon Leaf Collection Extended

Town's leaf collection has been extended through Dec. 16.

The Town of Herndon's leaf collection has been extended through Dec. 16.  This year's collection began Oct. 22 and was originally set to end on Nov. 30. Two additional weeks have been added. From Dec. 3-7 leaves will be collected at homes north of the W&OD bike trail. From Dec. 10-16 leaves will be collected at homes south of the W&OD bike trail.  Leaves should be raked as close to the curb as possible for collection. They should not block storm sewers, driveways or sidewalks. Residents can click here to see if they live north or south of the W&OD trail. Town of Herndon Leaf Collection Underway

Town will pick up leaves from curbs between Oct. 22 and the end of November.

The Town of Herndon's annual leaf collection begins today.  Town residents should rake their leaves as close to the curb as they can without blocking stormdrains, sidewalks or mailboxes, and without blocking traffic, the town says. During collection times grass clippings, shrub clippings and weeds should be placed in 30-gallon kraft recylable bags and should be put out only on residents' regular trash day only.  After the fall leaf collection is over, remaining leaves can be placed in 30-gallon kraft recyclable bags and they will be picked up on regular trash and yard-waste collection days.  Town of Herndon Leaf Collection Schedule • October 22 - 26 – North of Bike Trail • October 29 - November 2 – South of Bike Trail • November 5 - 9 – …
