Owner Jimmy Cirrito made the announcement on Super Bowl Sunday.
During Super Bowl Sunday Jimmy's Old Town Tavern owner Jimmy Cirrito made a big announcement for the restaurant and bar. Cirrito said the restaurant has been in downtown Herndon for 16 years and opened with a lot of help from family and friends, and now he has plans for expansion. He said the owners of the Tele-Fix at 695 Spring St., next door are planning to retire and close their business in March and he hopes to make use of the space. Cirrito's possible expansion plans include new bathrooms, a better kitchen, an outdoor beer garden and the possibility of brewing beer on site. Jimmy's Old Town Tavern celebrated its second King of the Wings win with a special chicken dance.
Jimmy's Old Town Tavern won Northern Virginia Magazine's King of the Wings contest for the second year in a row. The first year of the contest owner Jimmy Cirrito promised he would do the chicken dance in his boxers on Elden Street — a promise he made good on when he won in March 2011. Herndon Arts Week will offer many exciting art activities and entertainment for all ages beginning Oct. 8. Jimmy's raised funds for Fallen Firefighters and the Herndon Fraternal Order of Police
Jimmy's Old Town Tavern held its annual 9/11 Memorial Bike Run and Pig Roast early this year, on Sunday. A bit of rain didn't deter people from coming out to enjoy the gathering in the alley with live music, raffles and prizes, as well as a pig roast buffet. Jimmy's Old Town Tavern was voted No. 1 in WTOP's best wings contest.
Jimmy's Old Town Tavern has done it again. The Herndon hangout and community gathering place has won first place in WTOP's wings contest. Buffalo Wild Wings took second place out of 10 area restaurants that serve great wings; Ledo Pizza took third. Owner Jimmy Cirrito told WTOP that the secret is in the sauce, which he gets shipped to the restaurant all the way from Buffalo, NY. Last year Jimmy's won Northern Virginia Magazine's King of the Wings contest. Late one night in the middle of the contest, Cirrito promised the patrons at his restaurant that if Jimmy's wings won the contest he would do the chicken dance in his underwear in the middle of Elden Street.
