Herndon's Towne Square Singers held the annual winter performance on Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2. The show, Decembers Past, included holiday favorites from the last 30 years the group has been entertaining Herndon as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. Tickets are on sale now for performances on Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2.
The Town of Herndon's Towne Square Singers are presenting a 30th anniversary winter concert, "Decembers Past," beginning Nov. 30. This year's holiday show will include many favorites from the Herndon Towne Square Singers' 30 years worth of holiday concerts. All shows will be held at the Elden Street Players' Industrial Strength Theatre, 269 Sunset Park Dr., in Herndon. Performances will take place: • Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. • Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. • Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets for the shows are $12 each and are available at the Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave., or by calling 703-787-7300 through 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Reece has been a part of the Herndon Towne Square Singers for 24 years.
Harlong Reece, a long time member of the Herndon Towne Square Singers, was honored by the Herndon Town Council Tuesday night. Reece is stepping down as director of the Towne Square Singers after more than four years as director. He first joined the group 24 years ago and served as assistant director for 13 years. He has been a soloist in the group, has composed and arranged music, directed the group. Members of the Towne Square Singers are volunteers who give much of their time to the community rehearsing and then performing. ALL WEEKEND • The Herndon Towne Square Singers is celebrating its 30th anniversary this weekend with its spring show, featuring music from the big band era, to the Beatles to now. Shows will be held May 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Industrial Strength Theater. • ArtSpace Herndon is now featuring the Fine Arts Photography Competition. The exhibit features photographs from the finalists in the 2012 Fine Art Photography Competition in the Post Gallery at ArtSpace. The Herndon Towne Square Singers are celebrating 30 years this year and are celebrating with a variety of tunes this weekend.
The Herndon Towne Square Singers are celebrating 30 years of entertaining Herndon with their spring show, which includes music ranging from Broadway to big band to the Beatles to now. Director Harlon Reece said they began practicing for the show in January. He said the show is special because not only does it include some of the group's favorite songs they have performed over the past three decades, but it also includes many audience favorites. Reece said the show offers a lot of variety so there is something for everyone. He said the Herndon Towne Square Singers is known for liking to have fun with its shows, including memorizing the music, including choreography and fun props. Some of the most dedicated volunteers in our area are the members of the Herndon Towne Square Singers who will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with three special concerts next week at the Industrial Strength Theater in the Sunset Business Park in Herndon. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday May 4th and Saturday May 5th followed by a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday May 6th. The program will feature a wide variety of music from past performances including songs from the Big Band era, Broadway, Beatles, the 1950s, Country, Jazz and more.
