Robert "Bobby" Bowers Jr. was chosen as the Town of Herndon's Good Neighbor of the year. Barbara Glakas, of the Cultivating Community Commission, presented the award to Bowers during Tuesday's Herndon Town Council meeting. Bowers, who works for the Town of Herndon, was nominated for the award by his neighbor Zubair Saleem. Saleem said it is clear that Bowers cares for his neighbors, the environment and the community. Glakas read from the nomination form during the event. Saleem also said Bowers is well known for caring for his parents, who live just down the street, lending out his tools and helping neighbors when the snow falls.
