The Beltway Betties hope to knock the Vineyard Vixens off their winning streak during this weekend’s NOVA Roller Derby bout at the Dulles SportsPlex, 21610 Atlantic Boulevard. The teams begin the battle at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. The Vixens beat the Betties when the two met in May during the Betties’ inaugural bout, and the Betties have worked hard ever since to redeem themselves. Players gain fans with tough play and memorable names, such as the Betties’ blocker Manic Panic and the Vixens’ jammer Bonita Apple Bomber.
