Saturday was a sunny, mild day for Herndon Festival with a high of about 74 degrees, bringing out large crowds. Vicky Dorman from the Council for the Arts of Herndon said the group's beer booth sold a record amount on Saturday. Attendees enjoyed roving performers, children's arts and crafts activities, entertainment on three stages and much more. Five Things to Know: Sunday at Herndon Festival

Today's the last day of Herndon Festival. Check out the carnival, NASCAR simulator or hang out on the HMC Stage lawn with some Americana-themed entertainment.

Sunday brings a high of 80 for the closing day of Herndon Festival, which continues on with entertainment, games, food and activities for all ages.  1. The Herndon Festival 10K/5K Run and Fitness Expo takes place at 7:30 a.m. today. The race starts and ends at the Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave., where it will culminate with a Fitness Expo from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in the HCC gym. The expo will include a number of health, wellness and fitness vendors with product samples and information.  2. The Business Expo is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, while the Arts and Crafts Show and food vendors are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Carnival is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Kid's Alley and Children's Hands-On Art area is open again…

Five Things to Know: Saturday at Herndon Festival

Today should be a dry, mostly sunny day at Herndon Festival. Here's some highlights of the day.

Today’s high is 74 degrees and partially cloudy—great Herndon Festival weather. Here are a few tips on what’s happening today at the festival.  1. The Kid’s Alley and Children’s Hands-On Art Area will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lot at the intersection of Lynn and Station streets, offering arts and craft projects for children, as well as a number of roving street performers, including The Unicycle Lady, a stilt walker, spoon player and Jake the Magician. 2. The Business Expo will feature area businesses and will also be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Business Expo will also include 7/11 at the upper end of Pine Street offering free Slurpees and Flagship Carwash raffling off a free year of car washes. 3. Friday night was a damp evening at Herndon Festival.

The 32nd annual Herndon Festival got a little damp on Friday evening as severe thunderstorms and heavy rains moved through the area, triggering some flash flood warnings and tornado watches. Herndon Festival staffers, volunteers and carnival workers still came out to serve those who were willing to brave the rain. Thursday's high of 82 and sunny skies brought out many to the opening day at Herndon Festival.

The 32nd annual Herndon Festival kicked off Thursday evening with attendees that came to dine on festival fare, go on rides at the carnival, play carnival games and dance to live music. The warm evening brought out large crowds but Friday night may be a different story. Five Things to Know: Friday at Herndon Festival

Bike valet service is available Friday through Sunday at Herndon Festival.

Friday at Herndon Festival will be pretty weather dependent, but if the predicted storms manage to miss the area here’s what you’ll need to know today. 1. Want to be extra green? Ride your bike to the festival. There will be a free bike valet service at the festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, provided by the town’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee. Bike racks will be located at the intersection of Elden and Lynn streets. The folks at the valet will take your bicycle and hand you a ticket, then keep it safe while you enjoy the day. Simply return and give the ticket back and you’re on your way home. 2. Entertainment for Friday night is to include FLYNN from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the Café Stage playing Celtic dance music; 42 …

Five Things to Know: Thursday at Herndon Festival

It's opening day of Herndon Festival. Come celebrate all things Herndon with a carnival, live music and fireworks!

The 32nd Annual Herndon Festival is here again! Make sure you know what's happening, where to be and who to see by checking in with Herndon Patch throughout the weekend. Here are five things you need to know about heading to Herndon Festival today. 1. Carnival rides are open from 6-10 p.m. Thursday. A minimum of $5 in ride tickets must be purchase to enter the carnival. Tickets are $1 for single tickets, $25 for a book of 30 tickets or $40 for a book of 50 tickets. All-you-can-ride wristbands are offered on Thursday from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $16 per day.
