Update: Police ID Man Found Dead Near Herndon Apartments

Tory J. Marshall, 33, of Herndon, was found dead Saturday by someone on the walking path on Tamarack Way, police said.

The man found dead near a Herndon apartment building on Saturday has been identified as 33-year-old Tory J. Marshall. Marshall, a Herndon resident, was found by someone on the walking path in the 700 block of Tamarack Way, off of Herndon Parkway. Herndon Police say the investigation revealed alcohol may have been a factor. Police: Man May Have Died of Hypothermia

A dog walker found the man along the walking path near Tamarack Way in Herndon Saturday morning.

The man who was discovered deceased along the walking path near the 700 block of Tamarack Way may have died of hypothermia, according to Herndon Police. Police were called to the path shortly after 11 a.m. by a person who was out walking a dog and discovered the body. "Preliminary investigation indicates the male may be in his 30s, and he may have been exposed to the elements last night without proper winter clothing," according to a police press release.  Temperatures Friday night and early Saturday morning were in the teens with windchills in the single digits. Unidentified body discovered near Herndon Parkway and Tamarack Way.

5 p.m. update: Police say the man may have died of exposure to the cold temperatures overnight Friday. Read more here. ------------  Original post: 1:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 The Herndon Police Department is investigating a death at an apartment building near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Tamarack Way.  Police said a black male in his late 20s to early 30s was found dead in the rear of an apartment building. Police: Hit and Run Victim, Body Found in Creek Identified

Police identify body as Fitsum Abrha Gebretatios, husband of the hit and run victim, Simret Tekle Woldetensae.

A man found dead in a creek late Wednesday afternoon near the scene of a hit and run accident has been identified as 32-year-old Fitsum Abrha Gebretatios, Herndon Police said Thursday.  An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death. It is unclear at this time how Gebretatios may have been connected to a hit and run accident that killed his wife shortly after midnight on Wednesday. Simret Tekle Woldetensae, 35, was pronounced dead after police discovered her body in a parking lot on the 600 block of Center Street. Nearby, a number of cars had been damaged when a 2007 black Toyota Camry smashed into the line of parked cars.
