Police Ask Sex Assault Victims to Come Forward

Investigators believe man accused of similar crimes in Arlington and Fairfax counties may have victimized more people.

Police believe a man accused of sexual assault in Arlington and Fairfax counties has other victims in the greater Washington area and are asking them to come forward. Arlington police charged Joshua Terrell Franklin earlier this month with rape, robbery and forcible sodomy, according to a news release. The charges stem from a December 2012 incident in which investigators say Franklin forced a woman he hired online to perform sex acts at gunpoint. Franklin, of Woodbridge, is awaiting trial in Fairfax County on similar charges stemming from a January incident, the release states. Fairfax County police charged Franklin in January with two counts of robbery and two counts of rape following an incident at a Springfield-area hotel. "We believe …

Herndon Man Attacks Victim for 'No Apparent Reason' In Rosslyn Store

The attack took place early on Dec. 30, according to Arlington police.

An intoxicated 30-year-old man attacked a person inside of a Rosslyn store in what appeared to be a random incident, according to the Arlington County Police Department. Justin Lee Tchabo, of Herndon, was charged with malicious wounding. He was held without bond. The attack took place at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at a store in the 1600 block of North Wilson Boulevard, according to information police released Wednesday. Tchabo repeatedly punched a man in the head, dragged him to the back of the store and then continued punching him, according to police. The victim was attacked “for no apparent reason,” according to police. He was found unconscious with swelling to his face and was taken to a local hospital. Candlelight Memorial Tonight for Slain Jewelry Store Owner

Vigil is from 8 to 9 p.m. in front of Columbia Pike business.

A candlelight memorial will be held tonight for a 52-year-old jewelry store owner who was killed at his Columbia Pike business late last week. The memorial will be from 8 to 9 p.m. in front of Capital Jewelers, 3219A Columbia Pike, between Walter Reed Drive and Glebe Road, according to signs posted at the store. Police found Tommy Wong of Herndon dead late Friday at the jewelry store. His family called police after they were unable to reach him. Investigators believe Wong was killed during an armed robbery by a man wearing a yellow reflective vest at about 4 p.m. that day. Wong, by all accounts, was a kind-hearted, hard-working family man. A 52-year-old Herndon man was killed Friday afternoon during an armed robbery of a Columbia Pike jewelry store, the Arlington County Police Department announced today. The suspect remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a police news release. Investigators say the man was killed during an armed robbery of a jewelry store in the 3200 block of Columbia Pike at about 4 p.m. Friday. He did not return home at his usual time, nor did he call to indicate he would be late, according to police. His family made numerous attempts to call him on his cell phone and at the jewelry store, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.
