Herndon Town Council Preview: Temporary Herndon Fire Station and More

Fairfax County is applying for a special exception permit for a temporary fire station as Herndon's station 4 is rebuilt.

The Herndon Town Council will meet for the first time in 2013 for a work session Tuesday night.  The agenda Tuesday includes an application for a special exception for the home at 450 Virginia Ave., which would approve a home-based daycare for up to 12 children.  Another special exception application will allow for a temporary fire station facility on the property at 791 Elden St., in the downtown Herndon area, on the site of Horn Motors. The site will host a temporary fire station as the current station is torn down and rebuilt. Town Council Preview: Honoring HPD's Tracey Hildner

Community volunteer Dave Sinclair will also be honored Tuesday.

Tonight's Herndon Town Council meeting will feature a number of presentations, including honoring Tracey Hildner of the Herndon Police Department for her 21 years of service.  Dave Sinclair, a community volunteer often seen at Friday Night Live and helping at Herndon Community Television, will also be honored. There will be presentations for Herndon's Good Neighbor Award and Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (Dec. 7) as well.  During the public hearing portion, an ordinance will be voted on that would amend the town code related to massage therapy. The ordinance would adopt Fairfax County's massage therapists and massage establishments regulatory program within the town.  The council will vote on whether or not to pass an ordinance increasing …
