The LINK board thanks all of the churches, businesses and civic organizations who help disseminateRead More our program requirements through their networks and the LINK mini managers who take on the important tasks that keep LINK up and running. The board also thanks the ever vigilant volunteers who come every year to ensure the daily deliveries and annual holiday events are a huge success. They are each an important part of the Body of Christ. "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ" (1 Corinthians 12:12)

Thank you Herndon Patch for publishing such a wonderful article on LINK. LINK offers a powerfulRead More opportunity to serve God, model Jesus' teaching and to provide an example to others that they can participate too! Through our hard work and commitment LINK members donate thousands of volunteer hours each year in supporting needy people. LINK strongly believes that assisting those less fortunate with their most basic needs fosters hope and good will among our diverse and fast growing community. Unconditional love that flows freely is the simplest and purest of all acts. A used winter coat, four bags of non-perishables, a grocery gift certificate, two toys for a child at Christmas, these are the simplest of acts. God bless all.

Friday Night Live kicked off May 4th and that was not the only thing that was kicking! Dave Kirby,Read More Councilman Elect, and recently one of the Mayo'rs Distinguished Volunteer Award Recipient, celebrated his 65th birthday by what you ask, by volunteering at Friday Night Live. He worked the entire night as did many volunteers. His wife worked the first shift at the I.D. Booth as always but he continued pouring beer and selling beer so that all the attendees would enjoy theirselves. Mary, his wife, had other plans. Since he wanted to volunteer Friday Night Live opening night on his birthday, she thought they would compromise, and volunteer for the first shift and then party with their family. That didn't work out. He did have a cake and shared it with his friends at Friday Night Live and joined them after Friday Night Live at the Breeze. What a grand night to celebrate and where else can you go to have hundreds of people wish you" Happy Birthday Dave". The music was great and the band "Laura Lea and Tripp Fabulous were just that Fabulous. Friday Night Live is a tradition in the family and we have been attending since they opened.
