This Weekend: Holiday Homes Tour, Towne Square Singers Concert, Tree Lighting and More

ArtHouse Cinema and Brew. Special guest speaker, GMU Professor of Classics Martin Winkler, will introduce the next film in ArtSpace Herndon's Art House Cinema and Brew series, Vertigo. Professor Winkler will talk about the film before the screening.  Vertigo is a psychological thriller based on the 1954 novel D’entre les Morts by Boileau-Narcejac, and was one of the most defining films of Alfred Hitchcock’s career. Rated PG. Tickets are $10 for the movie, two microbrews, and gourmet popcorn. Guests must be 21 or older. Holiday Homes Tour. 
A beloved annual tradition in Herndon. This year's tour is both walkable and bike-able! Five homes ranging from the 1800s to today are featured. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of. Tickets available in person at Herndon Florist, 716 Lynn St.; ArtSpace, 750 Center St.; and Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave. Also available online.


Lights, Camera, Christmas! Herndon Towne Square Singers' annual holiday concert. Music of the holidays from TV and movies. Saturday, Dec. 7, 7:30-9 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8, 2-3:30 p.m. Tickets are $12. ArtSpace Herndon, 750 Center St. 703-787-7300. Tickets available online or at ArtSpace. Winter Open House/Santa's Workshop. Live entertainment including handbell music performed by Joyful Ringers, stories, visits with Santa, crafts sponsored by the Council for the Arts of Herndon, and refreshments courtesy of the Fortnightly Club and Friends of the Herndon Library. Check library website for specific activity times.  All ages. Holiday Tree Lighting & Sing-Along. 
Carols, tree lighting and a visit from Santa. Corner of Lynn and Elden Streets, downtown Herndon. Saturday, Dec. 7, 5-6 p.m. Free. Sponsored by Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce


Herndon Holiday Arts & Crafts Show. 
More than 70 arts and craft vendors offer unique gifts, decorations and handmade items. Sunday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave. Free admission. 703-787-7300.


Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol. This one-man show retells the classic story but focuses on Scrooge’s departed, doomed and chained business partner, Jacob Marley. Playing now through Sunday, Dec. 29.
