Reston Community Players to Premiere "The Passage"

Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Donald C. Drake premiers his newest work June 20-21 at the Industrial Strength Theatre.

Reston Community Players will conclude its 2013-14 season with the world premiere of The Passage, a futuristic tale depicting the normalization of assisted suicide.

The play is set some time in the not-too-distant future, after “the last human right” has become an accepted practice and woven into the social fabric, according to author Donald C. Drake. It covers the four hours preceding the scheduled passage of Angus Dewart, as families and friends gather at the traditional party given to people about to depart this world. The play follows the reactions of the family to Angus’s decisions.

The cast for The Passage includes Rick Kenney (Angus), Carole Preston (Susan), Michael Clendenin (Frank), Erin Campagnoni (Eileen), Cameron Bond (Nicholas), and K. Sridhar (Mr. Singh).
