Learn About Posture & Nutrition With Other Moms. Join the MOMS Club of Herndon for its monthly meeting this Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. when guest speaker Dr. Stacy G. Keith will give a talk about posture and stretching exercizes moms can do to prevent back strain and injury, and the effects nutrition can have on your posture. Children are welcome. Affordable Care Act WorkshopDo you need more information and background on the ACA, otherwise known as Obamacare? Come to a free workshop this Saturday, Jan. 18, 9 a.m. to noon at Heritage Fellowship Church, 2501 Fox Mill Road, Reston. 

Show Off Your TalentsPerformers of all types are invited to show off their talents at ArtSpace Herndon's open mic night. Singers, dancers, actors, musicians, and poets of all ages are encouraged to perform. Sign up for two numbers, or 10 minutes of stage time. A keyboard, CD system, music stand, and microphones will be provided. Free and open to the public. Sign up in advance to perform. This Saturday, Jan. 18, 7 p.m. ArtSpace, 750 Center St., Herndon.

Free Family Movie NightBring the family to see the animated 2012 film 'The Lorax,' based on the popular Dr. Seuss book. It's all part of Herndon Environmental Network's environmental movie series. Fun activities and discussions for all ages will follow the movie, including a brief talk by HEN's Habitat Heroes, about invasive and native plants. Walk-ins are welcome, or reserve a seat in advance. This Sunday, Jan. 19, 2-5 p.m. Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave.

Keep Tabs on the Government. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at 12000 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax. View the agenda online.

Calling All Relay for Lifers. Anyone interest in learning about the Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is welcome to attend an informational session at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the nZone on 14550 Lee Road in Chantilly.
