This Week: Herndon High Winter Concert, Kids' 'Holiday Hoopla,' NextStop's Holiday Productions Open and More

Celebrate the Holidays at Herndon High. A great way to start the winter season - with the sounds of Herndon High School's Concert and Symphonic Orchestras in their Winter Concert this Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Herndon High School Auditorium, 700 Bennett St.

Kids' Night Out 'Holiday Hoopla.' Take the night off while your child has some fun with their friends at the Herndon Parks and Recreation Department's themed Kids Night Outs. Children will enjoy a pizza or sub sandwich dinner, watch a movie, and participate in games or other activities all incorporating that night's theme. This month, the theme is 'Holiday Hoopla.' $15 per child. Register at herndon-va.gov/webtrac or call 703-787-7300. Must register by 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Spirit Equestrian Open House and Silent AuctionSpirit Open Equestrian is a registered charity that provides equine-assisted learning and therapy for children, adults, seniors, and wounded warriors of all abilities. This Saturday, watch a therapeutic riding demonstration from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park’s Indoor Arena, then from 1–4 p.m., enjoy light refreshments at their new home, Higgins House (the yellow house next to the park). Tour the early 1900s farmhouse, support a silent auction, and meet the Spirit Team. For more

Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol. This one-man show retells the classic story but focuses on Scrooge’s departed, doomed and chained business partner, Jacob Marley. Opens this Tuesday, Dec. 3 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 29. NextStop Theatre Company. Industrial Strength Theater, 269 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon. Tickets starting at $20.

The 12 Dates of Christmas. A single woman navigates the holiday season. A new holiday classic for anyone who has ever struggled to find holiday cheer during ‘the most wonderful time of the year.” Opens this Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 29. NextStop Theatre Company.
