Local Girl Scout Daisy Troops Give Back

A group of Daisies make Thanksgiving bags for families in need.

Three Girl Scout Daisy troops from the Herndon-Reston area gathered on Nov. 19 to give back to the community in the spirit of Thanksgiving. Troops 6747, 1698 and 5583 made Thanksgiving bags filled with stuffing, green beans, instant potatoes, yams and cranberry sauce. The girls held a "Stuff a Bag" party and decorated the bags with turkeys, preparing to give them to families in need. The troops filled 30 bags at the event and delivered them to Reston Interfaith's Embry Rucker Community Shelter in Reston.
