Photo Gallery: Herndon Fights Cancer at Annual Relay for Life

Herndon area residents, businesses, organizations and groups came out in support of Relay for Life on Saturday and Sunday.

The event included entertainment, food, games, contests and lots of walking and fundraising.

Event Chair Sheila Grooms said this year the Herndon Relay event shot past its goal of raising $124,000, raising more than $137,000. The event can continue collecting money for this year's relay through August. During the evening, participants gathered for a luminaria ceremony to honor and remember those in their lives who have fought cancer.
