Supervisors Honor Girl Scouts

Fairfax Supervisors honor Girl Scouts in their 100th anniversary year.

As the Girl Scouts celebrate its 100th Anniversary this year, towns, cities and other government bodies have been recognizing the international organization founded by Juliette Gordon Low.

More recently, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution honoring the Girl Scouts at its May 22 meeting. The resolution was sponsored by Dranesville Supervisor John W. Foust and Mason Supervisor Penelope “Penny” Gross, who was a co-manager of Service Unit 52-4 and continues to be an active adult Scout.

Association 51 Field Director Elyse Roland was on hand to receive the recognition, as was Association 51 SHARE Manager Penny Halpern and Association 51 Chair Therese Howe.
