Girl Scouts Forever Green!

Girl Scouts celebrate the 100th Anniversary with environmental projects in February, March and April!

Girl Scouts are inviting everyone around the world to take the Forever Green pledge! Anyone can join this effort, which is highlighted by month-long projects in February, March and April aimed at improving the environment and protecting natural resources.

This month local Girl Scouts and others will be participating in the Plastic Waste Challenge by tracking their use of reusable grocery bags and water bottles. Girl Scouts from throughout our Council are encouraged to improve on last year's performance, when more than 185 Girl Scouts saved a total of 13,960 plastic items from entering our landfills.

For more information, visit www.girlscouts.org/gsforevergreen/Earth-Hour.asp.

April will be dedicated to building rain gardens filled with native plants that capture and absorb storm water. These gardens can be built at home, schools and other community areas. For more information, visit www.girlscouts.org/gsforevergreen/Rain-Gardens.asp .
