I hate starting blogs

I think starting blogs is the most awkward thing in the whole wide world for the reason that no one will take you seriously until at least the 15th post.  For the record, I actually have a personal blog with nearly 300 posts, thank you very much.  I won't share that one on here because that would make me a troll.  No one likes a troll.  Not even other trolls.

So I guess I should say something about myself so I look legitimate.  My name is Meghan, I am a freshman at Ohio University (and no, not Ohio State University in Columbus...don't lie, I know you were thinking that) double majoring in Journalism and Political Science Pre-Law...yeah, I am currently working on my Will.  But seriously, if you aren't familiar with the journalism program at OU, which I will be referring to as the j-school because I'm lazy, it is a top 5 program up there with Missouri, Syracuse, Maryland and those big dogs.  Yeah, we're kind of a big deal and it's the only thing I have as rights for bragging because I pretty much stink at everything else school related.  Don't even get me started on Statistics or Pre-Algebra for that matter.  ANYWAY...going on...

You might be wondering why I am blogging on the Patch branch for Herndon, VA when I live in Athens, OH.  I am actually an out-of-state student from Charlottesville, VA (woop woop!) and since there isn't a Patch for the 'Ville yet (fingers crossed!), I figured Herndon will do just fine.

To be completely honest, I have not a single clue as to where Herndon is.  Let me check *checking Google Maps* Oh, okay, that's cool!  You all are near Reston!  My dad lives in Reston during the week.  I personally hate Northern Virginia, but I love Washington D.C.  Don't take my hate for NoVA personally, I just can't stand the traffic (says every person who isn't from NoVA, ever...).  Every time I drive up there, I end up sweating really bad and my body hurts from tensing up the whole time.  Kudos to y'all for being totally awesome and appearing to keep your cool while driving on the Belt, though.  I can barely navigate on 29 without whispering expletives under my breath.

I love the South, though.  A lot of people don't consider Virginia "the South."  I'm not going to get into it now, but trust me.  It is.

Well, I guess that's about it for now.  I'm sure there are so many other things I could say about myself but I try to keep it humble and classy.  Just a warning, I'm very opinionated.  I love playing Devil's advocate and I can guarantee that you may be offended or disagree with me at some point throughout this journey.  Oh well.  I speak both English and Sarcasm, so be ready for the latter.  I hope you enjoy my ramblings of being a college student and all my personal beliefs!  Maybe you'll learn something from me, or I from you (unlikely) (just kidding) (that was the Sarcasm I was talking about); I hope to make you smile, or occasionally laugh (well, no one really laughs on the Internet...they just breathe heavier that normal).  Maybe you'll sit back in you're chair and think, "Hm...she's got a point." Or, perhaps, you'll rip out a chunk of your hair and say, "WHAT?!  NO!!! THIS IS WRONG!"  But hey, at least I got you to react to something I wrote, and isn't that the point of being a journalist?

Happy blogging!
