NextStop Theatre Announces Stars of Upcoming Holiday Shows!

NextStop Theatre Company is proud to announce the stars of the company’s upcoming holiday repertory productions.  Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol will feature noted DC actor Ray Ficca and The Twelve Dates of Christmas will feature DC actress Kari Ginsburg.  Performances begin on December 3rd and 4th, respectively, at the Industrial Strength Theatre in Herndon.

To help celebrate the holidays, NextStop will produce two full-scale main stage productions in rotating repertory.  Each production will call upon the extraordinary talents of a solo actor or actress in these unique, funny, and heartfelt holiday stories.

Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, which will be directed by respected DC actor and director Rob McQuay, is a wonderfully inventive retelling of Charles Dicken’s classic novella from the perspective of Ebeneezer Scrooge’s deceased business partner, Jacob Marley.  Join Marley, accompanied by a mischievous sprite named Bogle, as he embarks on a desperate mission to save the soul of the only friend he ever had in life.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas, written by Ginna Hoben and directed by local up-and-coming director Abigail Isaac, will have its DC area premiere at NextStop.  Mary loves everything about the holidays, until she sees her fiancé kissing a co-worker on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade telecast.  After dropping her engagement ring into the Salvage Army bucket, Mary sets off on a wild series of misadventure as she re-enters the dating world during “the most wonderful time of the year.”

“These two shows are going to delight our audiences,” said NextStop’s Producing Artistic Director, Evan Hoffmann.  “Not only do they each tell wonderfully unique and touching stories that speak to the best aspects of the holidays, but they also feature two of the finest actors that I have ever had the pleasure of working with.”

Helping bring the two shows to life is a top notch production team that will transform the Industrial Strength Theatre back and forth from the Dickensian world of “Jacob Marley” to the New York living room of “Twelve Dates”.  The team includes Jennifer McDuffee (scenic design), Steven Holliday (lighting design) and Kathy Dunlap (costume design).  Jennifer Lambert is the Production Manager, Laura Moody and Sierra Banack stage managing “Jacob Marly” and “Twelve Dates”, respectively.
