Bi- Partisanship is alive for the greater good.

State Legislators join forces to encourage youth to participate in Govt.

State Senator Chap Petersen, State Senator Tom Garret and Delegate Mark Keam will serve on the Board of Advisors of the bi-partisan, grassroots organization Blazing Trails.  State Senator Petersen said he is “very excited to be involved in this new network of community engagement,” State Senator Garrett said he is “happy to help with this great idea,” and Delegate Keam added “I have tried my best to be nonpartisan in my efforts to increase civic engagement, and so that's the spirit of activism that I will bring to this project.”

Blazing Trails Chairman Terrence Boulden welcomed them to the growing organization saying, “Our efforts to engage diverse communities will always concentrate on a bi-partisan approach.  It is essential to those efforts that our organization’s leadership is composed of a diverse group of trusted community leaders.  We have followed that precept today with the addition of these outstanding legislators.”

State Senator Petersen and Delegate Keam are both Democrats while State Senator Garret is a Republican.  They will join Mac Cannon, a Republican and former candidate for Delegate, on the Blazing Trails Board of Advisors
