Photo of the Day: Old Herndon Town Hall
The old Herndon Town Hall houses the offices of HCTV, Council for the Arts, Tom Rust and others.
Herndon's Town Hall was built in 1939 as a public works project for FDR's Work Projects Administration. The building once housed all of Herndon's town government offices and staff, including the town's jail cells, which are still in the basement and today are used as storage.
Now the building serves as offices for the town and for community organizations. Offices include Mayor Lisa Merkel, town attorney Richard Kaufman, Del. Tom Rust (R-86), the Council for the Arts of Herndon, Herndon Community Television and the Herndon branch of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce.
