Frying Pan Farm Park Set to Host 64th Fairfax County 4-H Fair

Fairfax County 4-H Fair to bring games, rides, fair food and more to Herndon.

will play host once again to the 64th annual Fairfax County 4-H Fair the weekend of Aug. 4-5. 

The event will include carnival games, rides, fair exhibits and more. The park is located at 2709 West Ox Rd. in Herndon. Additionally guests will be able to wath the 4-H exhibitors prepare their farm animals for the show, visit exhibit booths, try farm chores, eat fair food, and watch dog and horse shows. An antique tractor pull will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday.  

The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The carnival rides will be open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday. There's a $7 parking fee per car each day.

For those who love the fair but don't want to battle the crowds, they can attend on Aug. 2-3 when the park is less crowded. There will be free, child-friendly shows from 10-11 a.m. both days, traditional fair rides, amusements and treats.

Tickets are $15 per person in advance for an unlimited one-day ride pass. Tickets must be purchased by July 31 for the special rate. Tickets for an unlimited one-day ride pass can also be purchased the day of the event for $25.

On Aug. 3 the carnival games and rides will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Children of all ages can enjoy riding in big trucks and tracktors from 6-8:30 p.m. and Cars II will be screened at dark on a large,outdoor movie screen. Guests can bring blankets and chairs for the lawn. Friday night is the only evening with free parking.
