Five Things to Know Today in Herndon

Tuesday night is National Night Out.

1. Tonight is National Night Out, and the Herndon Police Department as well as many of the council members and staff are going to be out in the community talking about public safety and how Herndon residents can keep their communities safer places. Events are being held at neighborhoods throughout Herndon.

2. Because National Night Out will be celebrated on Tuesday night, the Herndon Town Council will hold its regular August work session on Wednesday. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Hoover Conference Room of the , 765 Lynn St. 

3. The Herndon Braves varsity baseball team will have tryouts on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at . Players do not have to be Herndon High School students. The team is accepting juniors and seniors, as well as underclassmen who are playing at varsity level.

4. The at Amphora Diner Deluxe on Elden Street at 7:30 a.m. This week's meeting will include a visit from the club's district governor. 

5. Visit the Herndon Farmers Market on Thursday for Farmers Market Fun Days. Children of all ages can enjoy . Uncle Pete's shows are interactive celebrations. Farmers Market Fun Days is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on the Herndon Municipal Center lawn in downtown Herndon.
