Signup Open for Herndon Kids Triathlon

Herndon Kids Triathlon registration is open through Sept. 22.

Signup is open for the Herndon Kids Triathlon, which will take place at the Herndon Community Center on Sept. 23.

The triathlon gives area children and teens the chance to compete in a triathlon created for them and is designed for youth ages 6 to 16. The focus on the triathlon is finishing the event, rather than competition.

To register, participants need an estimated 50-yard swim time. Those who don’t know how long it will take to complete the 50-yard swim can attend a swim clinic on August 18 or Sept. 9 from 4-5:30 p.m.

Clinic attendees will practice, be timed on their 50-yard swim and receive tips on how the swim event will happen on race day. Participants must be registered before they can participate in a clinic.

The triathlon is broken up into age divisions according to participants’ age as of Dec. 31, 2012.
