Herndon High School Senior Andrew Goldman won the 6A 3200m run at the Virginia State meet in Norfolk on Saturday, June 7 during the Outdoor Track and Field State Championship.
Goldman clocked in with a time of 9:12:58. He also won the state title for the 3200m during the Indoor Track and Field Season.
Last year, Goldman placed 7th at the outdoor regional meet - just missing the qualifications to advance to the state competition, according to Fairfax County Public Schools.
Goldman will attend the University of Virginia in the fall.
