Skate Park Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening

The Town of Herndon is holding the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new skate park at Trailside Park, on Saturday 25th at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments, entertainment and door prizes will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony from 2- 3 p.m.  The afternoon will include open skate time.  T-shirts will be given to the first 200 people.  Additional parking is available at the Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Avenue, from which Trailside Park can be reached from the W & O D Trail.

The 4,200 square-foot concrete skate park was designed by Grindline after gathering community input and review, and constructed by Hammerhead Construction.  Virginia Paving generously donated its services and talents with park improvements including the relocation of the sand volleyball court.  Lane Construction donated its services and talents for park shelter improvements. The skate park will be open regular park hours, dawn to dusk.
