South Lakes Boys Soccer improved to 5 - 1, behind Monday night's 1 - 0 win away at Mt. Vernon. The game was fast paced and physical.

Mt. Vernon had the better part of the possession and attack during the first 25 minutes.

SL struck the first and only goal of the game in the 37th minute on a near-perfect corner kick by senior Elvin Arbaiza that found junior Johnny DeSouza, who rose and headed the ball in during the 36th minute.

The momentum changed for the rest of the game, though several fast breaks by a skilled Mt, Vernon team were snuffed out by a very composed freshman TJ Bush, making his very first start for South Lakes

District play starts Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Stone Bridge and will continue on Thursday at home against Marshall.
