Staff welcomes a familiar face as the new principal

Menuey is currently serving as assistant principal atin Herndon.

Menuey’s selection was announced by Cluster VIII Assistant Superintendent Fabio Zuluaga at a Tuesday morning staff meeting. Menuey received a standing ovation from the staff, said Hunter Mill school board rep Stu Gibson, who was on hand for the announcement.

“With staff support and strong leadership, Lake Anne is in good hands,” said Gibson. “Dr. Menuey knows what it takes for continued success at Lake Anne and shares Dr. Zuluaga’s vision for the cluster as well."

Said Hajj, who teamed with Menuey her first year at Lake Anne:  “It is a principal’s dream to mentor someone in administration and have them be successful. This is a win for Lake Anne.”

Menuey was shaking hands and giving high five to the students in the hall and working hard to remember names.

Hajj said she and Menuey will be able to spend a significant amount of time getting ready for the transition in late June.  His familiarity with the staff and school will make the transition much easier, she said.
