Local Credit Union to Host School Supply Drive for Herndon Students

Corporate America Family Credit Union is collecting school supplies to help children at Hutchison Elementary School.

Corporate America Family Credit Union will be holding its annual Project Backpack school supplies drive to help area children prepare for the upcoming school year. 

With the school year approaching, many area families will struggle to provide school supplies for their children.

Corporate America Family Credit Union will be collecting supplies—from pencils and pens to calculators and backpacks—through Aug. 17.

The credit union began supporting Project Backpack in 2004, collecting supplies for students at  

Items needed include: backpacks, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, crayons, rulers, construction paper, folders, binders, notebook paper, tissues, highlighters, PlayDoh, pencil sharpeners, calculators and pencil cases.

"Helping families by providing them with basic school supplies is so rewarding," said David Sayed, Branch Manager of Corporate America Family Credit Union’s Herndon branch. "Feedback from children and parents receiving the supplies over these past years has been such a moving, positive experience for our staff and members."

Area residents can bring school supplies or monetary donations to Corporate America Family Credit Union's Herndon branch, located at 13075 Worldgate Dr. through Aug. 17.
