Hutchison Elementary Students Learn About Emergency Services

More than 100 Hutchison Elementary students got to learn about Fairfax County's 911 service and Office of Emergency Management.

A group of about 100 students had the opportunity to learn about emergency services in Fairfax County this summer.

In late July and early August the students were able to tour the McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center with staff from the Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications and the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management.

The students, who ranged from age 6 to 11, got to see an overview of important public safety functions of the department of public safety communications and the Office of Emergency Management, along with their tour of the facility.
