Five Things to Know This Week in Herndon

Have you seen Sunshine the beagle-basset hound mix?

1. Herndon Community Television is seeking a community volunteer with video editing skills. The organization is looking for creative people who have an interest in working to highlight local events. Volunteers are welcome to use HCTV facilites or work on their home computers. Follow this link for volunteer information. 

2. A Herndon family is seeking their dog Sunshine, who wandered off on Saturday evening. She's a friendly beagle-basset hound mix. The family is asking anyone who sees her or finds her to contact them at 703-582-0309. Click here to see a photo of Sunshine. 

3. The Herndon Senior Center is seeking volunteers. The Center needs a Mandarin Chineses-speaking volunteer and a Farsi-speaking volunteer to help participants complete a survey on Thursdays. For more information call 703-324-5406 or email volunteersolutions@fairfaxcounty.gov

4. A number of Herndon High School and Herndon Middle School students had the opportunity to perform with the District XII honor band this month. Those chosen include: Jonathan Ericson, Tristan Savage, Tiberiu Baicoianu, Adrian Ahn, Jeff O'Connell, James Heiman, Jacob Reeves, Andrew O'Connell, Cale Witmer, Heather Youmans, Alice Robertson, Daria Bradfield, James Adams and Michael Chen.

5. A Herndon family is seeking a home for Snow White, a stray cat they took in when the weather became cold. She's about a year and a half old, gets along with other cats, is spayed, tested negative for feline leukemia and has had her rabies shot. Click here for more information on Snow White.
