Herndon Historical Society May Meeting to Focus on Laura Ratcliffe, Southern Spy

Author and former Herndon Historical Society President Chuck Mauro will be the speaker at the May meeting of the Herndon Historical Society, to be held Wednesday, May 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Herndon depot.

Chuck will share details about the additional information he has discovered about Herndon’s own Laura Ratcliffe since he published the book, A Southern Spy in Northern Virginia, The Civil War Album of Laura Ratcliffe—including one discovery that will almost bring Laura back to life! Laura, a friend of both John Singleton Mosby and J.E.B. Stuart, provided information that saved Mosby from capture by the Union army.

Herndon Historical Society meetings are free and open to the public, and visitors are welcome. For additional information contact Society President Carol Bruce at carolbrcom@aol.com.
