A Fairfax County Public Schools employee has been charged with embezzlement after 1,200 laptop computers belonging to the school system were found in his home.

Craig Soderberg, 60, of Lady Anne Court in Alexandria, was charged with two counts of embezzlement. Soderberg was a warehouse employee, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

The FCPS Internal Investigation Section was tipped off in October of last year, authorities report.

Police believe that Soderberg had been taking used computers, refurbishing them, and selling them online.

The investigation is ongoing.

This arrest comes just two months after a local principal and administrative assistant were arrested for allegedly embezzling $100,000 from the district.
