Town of Herndon Proclaims March 31 to April 6 Local Government Education Week
Council thanked the Town fo Herndon staff for the vital role they play in educating the community through the town's many initiatives.
The Mayor and Herndon Town Council proclaimed March 31 through April 6 as Local Government Education Week during Tuesday's council meeting.
Mayor Lisa Merkel said it's an appropriate week to do such, because the City of Staunton Virginia created the Council-Manager form of government on April 2, 1908.
The Mayor and Council expressed appreciation to the Town fo Herndon staff for the vital role they play in educating the community through initiatives such as the Herndon Citizens Police Academy and the Youth Police Academy, the Neighborhood College, community budget outreach meetings, and other workshops and activities that are important to Herndon residents.
