Town Council Preview: Honoring HPD's Tracey Hildner

Community volunteer Dave Sinclair will also be honored Tuesday.

Tonight's Herndon Town Council meeting will feature a number of presentations, including honoring Tracey Hildner of the Herndon Police Department for her 21 years of service. 

Dave Sinclair, a community volunteer often seen at Friday Night Live and helping at Herndon Community Television, will also be honored. There will be presentations for Herndon's Good Neighbor Award and Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (Dec. 7) as well. 

During the public hearing portion, an ordinance will be voted on that would amend the town code related to massage therapy. The ordinance would adopt Fairfax County's massage therapists and massage establishments regulatory program within the town.

The council will vote on whether or not to pass an ordinance increasing the fee for passing bad checks written to the town from $35 to $50. 

The Herndon Town Council will also vote on an ordinance declaring the residential structure at 1043 Jeff Ryan Dr. an unsafe structure and prescribing the repair of the structure to remove the elements that cause it to be unsafe.

A resolution will also be considered to adopt a revised version of the town's 2030 Vision Plan, Vision Principles and Goals and Objectives. 

The night's general items include: 

• Resolution 12-G-97, Modification to Town of Herndon Contract #12-01, Integrated Management System Consultant.
• Resolution 12-G-98, Award of Contract for Refuse and Recycling Operations Consultant Services - RFP #13-02.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Ingram Council Chambers, 765 Lynn St. in downtown Herndon.
