Herndon residents rang in the holidays with caroling and the annual tree lighting.

Herndon welcomed the holidays Saturday with a Christmas sing-along, tree lighting and a visit from Santa in downtown Herndon. 

Members of the Herndon High School Pride of Herndon band performed for the crowd to sing along before the countdown to the tree lighting.

The evening concluded when Santa arrived atop a fire engine from the Fair Oaks station and spent time handing out candy and taking photos.
