House Kills Bill to Add VA Seats to MWAA Board

The Virginia House of Delegates killed a bill that would've allowed Gov. Bob McDonnell to appoint two new Virginia members to the MWAA board.

MWAA operates the Dulles International Airport and is heading up the Dulles Metrorail Project. According to the Washington Post, Del. Joe May (R-Loudoun), who is chairman of the Transportation Committee, said a similar bill will be considered in the Senate and the issue isn’t dead. May is the delegate who filed the bill.

The House did pass a bill earlier this week that will allow McDonnell to appoint two new members on the MWAA board, but not until July 1. The bill died after it was amended.
