Herndon Town Council Preview: Temporary Herndon Fire Station and More

Fairfax County is applying for a special exception permit for a temporary fire station as Herndon's station 4 is rebuilt.

The Herndon Town Council will meet for the first time in 2013 for a work session Tuesday night.

The agenda Tuesday includes an application for a special exception for the home at 450 Virginia Ave., which would approve a home-based daycare for up to 12 children.

Another special exception application will allow for a temporary fire station facility on the property at 791 Elden St., in the downtown Herndon area, on the site of Horn Motors. The site will host a temporary fire station as the current station is torn down and rebuilt. It will also be the staging area for construction of the new fire station.
