Herndon Hosts Public Safety Day

Saturday will be Public Safety Day in downtown Herndon.

Families can learn more about safety this Saturday in downtown Herndon. 

The Herndon Police Department will host Public Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday at the Herndon Municipal Center, 777 Lynn St.

The event wil include fingerprinting and identification photos for children, meet and greets with the Herndon K-9 team and vehicles, child safety seat checks and installations, trick-or-treating for children and an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog.

Photo identification and fingerprinting helps provide the police with vital information to help them find missing children. The Fairfax County Sheriffs Office will provide a free photo and set of fingerprints using inkless technology.
