Herndon, Fairfax County Labor Day Hours

The Town of Herndon and Fairfax County's offices and services will be impacted by the upcoming Labor Day holiday. 

The Town of Herndon's offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 5. No trash will be collected on Monday, and refuse normally collected Monday will be collected Tuesday, Sept. 6. The Herndon Community Center will be closed on Labor Day. The Herndon Centennial Golf Course will be open from 6:30 a.m. until dark. 

The Town of Herndon will host its annual on the Town Green on Sept. 5. The event begins at noon and runs until 6 p.m. and includes wine and beer tasting from companies throughout Northern Virginia and beyond. There will also be arts and crafts sales and bands performing throughout the day. Visit www.herndon-va.gov or call 703-787-7300 for more information.  

Fairfax County's Labor Day schedule is as follows: 

County Government – Closed

Courts – Closed

Public Schools and School Offices – Closed

Library – Closed Sunday, Sept. 4 and Monday, Sept. 5.

Fairfax Connector – Operating on a Sunday schedule

Fastran – Not in service

Park Authority – RECenters open until 6 p.m., except George Washington RECenter, which is closed. Historic sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nature centers will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Frying Pan Farm Park open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the visitor center is closed. Green Spring Garden open from noon to 4:30 p.m., but the historic house is closed.

McLean Community Center and Old Firehouse Teen Center – Closed
