The Herndon Town Council is looking for town residents' input on the town's fiscal year 2014 budget, including town programs and services included in the budget.
The Council will hold a public hearing to collect input on the budget from Herndon residents at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Herndon Council Chambers. Residents may also provide their comments online on the town's website by clicking here.
Mayor Lisa Merkel said the input Herndon residents provide early on is an important part of developing the budget.
“As we consider resource allocation for the next fiscal year, we encourage citizens to share with us their views on programs and services that are most important to them,” Merkel said in a news release.
Town Manager Art Anselene will provide a proposed 2014 budget to the Herndon Town Council by April 1. The council will hold two public hearings on the proposed budget, on April 9 and April 23. The budget must be adopted by June 30.
All public hearings start at 7 p.m. at Herndon's Ingram Council Chambers, 765 Lynn St. More information on the budget and the budget process will be posted at www.herndon-va.gov.
