Fairfax County Hosts Low-Cost Rabies Clinic Sunday

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will host a rabies clinic at the Sully District Government Center in Chantilly on Sunday.

The Fairfax County Animal Shelter is hosting a low-cost rabies clinic from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Sully District Government Center, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd. in Chantilly. 

The cost for a rabies shot is $12 per cat or dog and all pets will receive a one-year rabies vaccine. Those wishing to get a three-year rabies vaccine must bring in their pet's rabies certificate showing their current rabies vaccination and expiration date. Rabies certificates will be issued without tags. 

Those who come to the clinic should make sure their dogs are on leashes and cats are in carriers. Vaccines for ferrets are no longer available at the clinic. Fairfax County 2012 dog licenses will be sold separately at the clinic for $10 per dog.

Cash and checks only will be accepted at the clinic. The clinic is a partnership with the office of Fairfax County Board Supervisor Michael Frey and is being hosted by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Deepwood Veterinary Hospital. For more information, call 703-830-1100.
